James (Jim) Andrew Sweeney was born February 21, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up and attended school in Cleveland and graduated from Shaw High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1946, stationed in Tsingtao, China, until his honorable discharge in 1948. Under the GI Bill he attended John Carroll University for one year, then transferred to and graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 1952. He joined the Dobeckman Packaging Co. which later was absorbed by DOW Chemical Company. After working in Cleveland, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, he was transferred to Los Angeles, CA in 1970. He loved traveling with Marylou, reading, golfing, collecting World War II memorabilia, spending time with his family and was often seen at the Elks Club. Jim was a faithfully devout parishioner at St John Fisher Church in Palos Verdes. He passed away at his home on March 24, 2015.
