    Dr Osama Mohammed Ettouney was a native of Egypt, born in 1951. He received his undergraduate degree from Cairo Institute of Technology, and his MS degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT. He joined Miami University as a professor in 1986 after obtaining a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. He obtained the United State citizenship on May 4, 1994. Dr Ettouney served as a chair in the Department of Engineering and Computing for 15 years and received various awards including the Philips Knox Teaching Awards. He also worked as a member of the University Wide Committee and proponent of the HOWE Writing Center. After his retirement in 2014, Dr Ettouney dedicated his time to the writing and publication of books and articles. He died in 2019 at the age of 68.

    Thomas Peyton was born on June 23, 1919 in Duluth, Minnesota. He received Bachelor’s degree from Carleton College in Minnesota. He later joined the US army and went to Britain to fight in the Second World War. In 1946, the US army returned Thomas back to Minnesota. He then studied Masters of Arts in History from the New York University and graduated in 1961. One year after his graduation, Thomas joined the Peace Corps program and went to Ivory Coast where he taught French to schoolchildren. In 1970, he began teaching French at John Burroughs School in St. Louis, Missouri. Thomas also obtained a Masters’ degree in French from Middlebury College. Apart from reading history books, Thomas also loved traveling. He traveled to different countries of the World. Thom died on March 30, 2010, in Oxford, Ohio.
