Ordained by the Presbytery of Steubenville, Nov. 19, 1828. Pastor, Ridge, O., 1828-36, Cadiz, O., 1828-37. Prof. Greek Language and Literature, Miami Univ., 1837-49. President pro. tem., Miami Univ., 1844-45. Resigned his professorship to establish an Academy at Indianapolis but died just as he was entering upon that work.
